Thailand is affected by different monsoon seasons. Different regions of the country are hit at different times of the year. In general, the best season for vacations on the Western Coast is Nov-April. The best season for vacations on the Eastern Coast is Jan-May. Summer temperatures can be stifling, so plan accordingly.
Pick Your Places
Thailand is a gateway to Asia. From the US, you’ll have a layover in another destination to catch a flight to Bangkok. Many people use this time to add a day or two in a second place of interest. Our favorite? Hong Kong!

After Bangkok comes the hard choices. You can head North to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai for jungles, tented glamping amongst elephant sanctuaries, zip lining, art, and beautiful temples.
Or, you can head South to the limestone cliffs and beaches that made Thailand famous. You can party in Patong, climb cliffs in Krabi, explore sea caves via kayak, jet boat through a bay, island hop for the best beaches or curl up next to your private villa pool before getting a famous Thai massage.

We recommend you start with at least 8 days in Thailand. As you add additional dates and destinations, you may wish to extend your stay. Based on your must-do list, decide how many days your trip will be.
