We recently visited the new Hard Rock Los Cabos all-inclusive resort in Los Cabos. We loved our stay and part of that was made even better by renting a pool cabana. Here’s what you need to know:
The Cabanas are at the Active Pool
The Cabanas are located at the active pool up by the main building. This pool has great music and is located next to Los Gallos restaurant. Sometimes there is a live band playing, sometimes they do a foam party…but there is always something fun going on. It is not a super quiet place.
The Cabanas are Not Oceanside
The pools near the cabana are tired down to beach level. The cabanas are located on the upper level near the pool that is set back by the resort. Some of the cabanas have oceanviews while others face more toward the pool and restaurant. None of them, however, are oceanfront.
The Cabanas are First Come, First Serve on Location
The location of your cabana is not pre-picked. If you are doing a multi-day rental, your pool butler will try to honor your preference, but if someone else comes early and picks it, you will not get your choice of location. All the cabanas are identical except for location.
The Cabanas Have Great Finishes
The cabanas come with two interior seating areas, 2 dedicated sun loungers, a private bathroom, a private shower, and a sink area. The cabanas get afternoon sun and morning shade.
Cabanas come with Butlers
The pool butlers were amaaaaazing. They kept our drinks coming, stocked our ice bucket with water and juice boxes for the kids, and brought endless plates of lunch and snacks for all our hungry kiddos. While the service was great all around the pool, this service was over the top and it make it very easy to care for our family all day long at the pool.
Pricing & Resort Credit
The cabanas have different rates depending on what level of wine or champagne you order with them. We were more interested in the cabana than the wine so we got the lowest level. You can use resort credit to pay for them. The cost covers from 9am-5pm and is a daily rental. When we went, the lowest level was $400 per day full price, with resort credit paying 25% of that.

Was it Worth It for a Family?
We LOVED the pool cabanas for a family. Even though our kids would often go use the lowest level pool, the cabana was a perfect place for us to place all our stuff. We were traveling with a variety of ages and the youngest child still napped. In the afternoons, an adult could camp out in the cabana with the preschooler for a nap while still getting drinks and having a private bathroom nearby which didn’t require leaving the sleeping child. It was incredibly convenient for feeding everyone lunch. It was also great in the afternoon when the family wanted to rest. Several times one or more children came and camped out in the shade or took a nap before they went back to water slides and pool fun. For some days, we were down to one adult watching multiple children while other adults were at the spa or on excursions or working. This was an ideal choice for those days as it really helped to have the extra help from the pool butlers and still have the supervising adult have a good time. We highly recommend this if Grandma or Grandpa are trying to watch the grand kids at the pool or if Mom and Dad just need a break!
